It’s everyone’s favourite Friday Five time! This time around it’s the fashion edition, which should be pretty interesting as my knowledge and experience of fashion is close to zero! Woohoo! Let’s go!
1. Describe your favorite outfit.
Honestly, my favourite outfit is really soft pyjamas!! But if I have to pick something fancy, I actually have some dresses I really love but don’t get a chance to wear much. I love things with asymmetric hem lines.
2. Describe your personal style.
My personal style is, “I really don’t care about fashion, jeans and hoodie are comfortable.” One of my ex-friends once tried to make me throw away my geek t-shirts in favour of really ugly 80s style floral dresses, which is one of the very many reasons she’s no longer my friend.
3. Approximately how much do you spend on fashion/personal care annually?
Honestly…not that much these days. Maybe a bit more when I’ve lost some weight, but honestly we’re saving up to switch our mortgage on our house right now, so I only buy essentials like shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser etc. at the moment (and even then, I don’t buy those much as I’m using up gifts from last Christmas!)
4. Do you dress for yourself or for everyone else?
I dress for myself in that there’s no point getting dressed up for the cats (they wouldn’t care unless I was in a dress literally made out of Dreamies or bacon). But I also dress for everyone else in that I would go out in my dressing gown and pyjamas given the choice, but I don’t want to scare people so I do make an attempt to wear real clothes when leaving the house. Having said that, it’s totally fine to wear your pjyama top under a hoodie as long as you’re also wearing a bra. What can I say, it’s less laundry.
5. Give us your best fashion/personal care advice.
Ladies: hand wash your bra! I can’t even believe how many of my friends complain about how much their bra has fallen apart, or stabbed them in the heart, or had to be thrown away. Every single bra says “hand wash only” on it, and there’s a reason for that! If you can’t be bothered to hand wash (and lots of washing machines have a specific setting for this), then don’t complain that your favourite bra is beyond repair. Just saying 😉
