New theme

I saw this theme and I absolutely fell in love with it – I just had to have it on Star Girl because of the stars in the sky. I especially love the creepy haunted shadow houses in the footer; they give it some personality and stop it looking too girly. I’m not sure if it’s originally intended as a Halloween style theme, but I don’t think it’s unworkable for the rest of the year, too!

The only thing I’m not enamoured with is the title font with the blog title and strapline. It doesn’t really fit in with the look and feel of the rest of the theme, but when I get a chance I’ll look into creating a simple title/title image with one of my favourite cursive fonts. I absolutely love the Google Font Directory and its simplicity and wide variety of fonts. My favourite at the moment is Pacifico, so Star-Girl may just end up being in that. The cursive ‘G’ will look pretty good I think.

Edit: In the end I decided on an image instead of text for the header. It just worked a lot better for the look I wanted to go for and ended up being much more versatile in terms of colour, outlining and shadows.
