Kids can be a pain, especially after you've spent ages caring for them as a baby and they turn out ugly and stupid! However, they can also be useful...

Although kids can't cook (major drawback), they can help keep pets happy and even earn money now and then. Make them study hard, and have their report card say A+ for about a couple of days. The kids will return from school saying "I got $100 dollars from grandpa for good grades!" or you will receive $100 after studying on the computer.

Kids generally make a big mess. Definitely get a maid!

Give your kid their own bathroom, or if you have 2/3, then put 2 or 3 showers in one bathroom. It sounds stupid, but it saves a lot of time! At least then they can get to school.

Try to make sure your kid goes to school. If it doesn't because it's busy doing chores or whatever, it can make up grades by studying on the computer or by reading a book. This is sometimes useful if you can't get the kid up early enough in the morning or find school a pain.

Try to make sure there is some form of food out for your kid when they get back from school, especially if they didn't get breakfast. This will stop them buying yet another snack.

If you decide that you don't want the child for whatever reason, you do have the option of neglecting him and letting him miss school until his grade status reaches an F. The military school will eventually come after the kid and put him in a boot camp. Once the kid is gone, you can sell his belongings for a fraction of their value.
