Cath Kidston Bubbles Crush Mug

As part of my dooyoo Christmas stocking of prizes, I received this lovely Cath Kidston mug. Dooyoo must be secretly stalking me as I still haven’t got around to buying a nice mug for work, but after careful thought I decided I’d keep this one at home as the ones at work tend to go missing on a regular basis.

The mug manages to find that balance between being elegant and having a large capacity. It stores a generous 18oz, which Google informs me is around 530ml – so it holds a lot but doesn’t look massive. It’s bigger than the standard size mugs I have at home, but it’s not so big it’s difficult to store, hard to wash or easy to knock.

The mug is a plain white colour, cheered up by the brightly coloured spots, or ‘bubbles’, in green, blue, pink, yellow and red. I often find with Cath Kidston that the designs are far too fussy for my tastes, but this simple design will suit any kitchen and I wish they did more things in this kind of style! There are also other designs in the range, including stars, and apparently a lot of people mix and match them to create a set. The mug has a shiny, glazed finish, and it narrows down to the bottom which has a rough china finish and a removable sticker with ‘Cath Kidston’ written on it.

The mug is made from fine china/porcelain, and it’s a bit thinner than a standard mug but you don’t feel you have to treat it extremely carefully like a cup. The quality is excellent and the mug is flawless. The design has an extremely good finish, and it does look like an expensive product.
